As scholars, we......research the animal-human relationship, the ways in which humans contribute to the suffering of animals, and the means by which we can improve animals' lives. Our scholarship is rooted in the field of animal studies, and it branches into such disciplines as sociology and teacher education.

The SASI Reading Group is a reading group in which MSU graduate, professional, and undergraduate students, as well as non-students, present and discuss their own and other scholars' research to develop a more interdisciplinary understanding of the animal-human relationship.
